“Biju Gram Jyoti-Rural Electrification
Programme of the State Government” for attainment of the goal of providing access
to electricity to all habititions during the next five year starting from 2007-08.
Under this scheme,the habititions having population less than 100 and not included
in the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana(RGGVY) will be covered to attain
the objective
Altogether 10,000 habititions/village
will be covered during 11 th five year plan period. In the first phase, Rs 315 crore
has been allocated taking block as the unit (@1 Crore per block)
The scope of the scheme
is as follows
(i)-Electrification of Unelectrified/de-electrified
habitions/villages within accost of 3.5 lakh per habition/villa
(ii)- Up-gradation of capacity of the
distribution system in order to cope with additional load
within a maximum cost ofRrs 1.5 Lakh village/habition
(iii)-Free Electrical Connection to
the un-electrified BPL households on the pattern of
“Kutir Jyoti” within a maximum
cost of 2000 per household.
(iv)-Energigation of pump sets on dug
wells / individual private LI points

shall be placed before the district Electrical Committe (DEC) constituted taking
the following members for approval and assigning priority both the Purpose of electrification
of village/habition and Kutir Jyoti :
